- To identify methods for developing teams and individuals.
- To identify methods to measure gaps in knowledge and/or skills.
- To explain the preparation, action and review of development plans.
- To explain the Situational Leadership model, and identify the appropriate leadership style depending on an individual's willingness and ability to perform a task.
- To discuss the application of development methods.
- To explain how to record the results and progress of staff development.
- Generation of best practice ideas.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this module, participants will be able to:
- Explain their role and responsibilities in the development of staff.
- Describe the methods within their responsibility for developing individuals and the team.
- Explain how to identify the existing levels of knowledge and skill held by individuals.
- Describe how to identify any gaps in existing knowledge and skills and what development methods they would use to help fill those gaps.
- Explain how to identify the appropriate leadership style depending on the individual and task.
- Keep records of staff development.
